Sage Soccer Team 5th Grade Pen Pals

Mrs. Soden's 5th Grade ELA classes have been corresponding through pen pal letters with the Russell Sage Women's Soccer Team for the past few months in an effort to gain experience with "real world" writing. The elementary and college students have written letters back and forth to get to know their pen pals and find out about personal interests, hobbies and goals. The 5th grade students have enjoyed learning about the college soccer experience first-hand! They asked very thoughtful questions to learn what it was like to be in college and also play a college level competitive sport. To wrap up their pen pal experience, the students had a chance to meet the players from the team! Members of the team came to Hoosic Valley Elementary School to play some games with their 5th grade pen pals! It was such a great experience and opportunity for our students! They really enjoyed getting to know their new college buddies!
