RCSMA Fall All County Music Festival
The Hoosic Valley Music Department would like to congratulate all of the students and families who participated in the Rensselaer County School Music Association (RCSMA) Fall All County Music Festival at Tamarac High School in Brunswick. Students from Hoosic Valley participated in Elementary Chorus, Junior Band, and Senior Chorus for this event. These students had a few weeks to prepare the music and on Thursday, November 2nd they rehearsed at Tamarac from 4pm-7:30pm. The students then returned to Tamarac on Saturday, November 4th for rehearsal from 9am-1:30pm followed by a concert for family and friends.
RCSMA has 14 public and private schools as members and hosts two All County festivals and a Scholarship festival each year. The school districts rotate hosting duties and music teachers rotate managing the 9 different ensembles for these events. Requirements for selection in the ensembles vary from group to group and school to school and year to year. The Hoosic Valley music teachers are proud to have sent the following students to the 2023 Fall Festival:
