Weekly Covid Update February 28
Posted on 02/28/2021

The Hoosic Valley Central School District had zero members of our school community test positive for COVID-19 this past week.

The health and safety of the students, teachers and staff in our school community remains our top priority. While we did not have any cases amongst our students and staff, there are still some cases in the larger community, so continue to be careful.

By continuing to practice social distancing, proper mask-wearing, handwashing and disinfecting both in school and in the larger community, we will continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic together.
Please encourage your student to continue to practice social distancing and mask-wearing outside of school any time they are in a public setting or visiting with friends.

All students and employees must continue to:

  • Monitor for any symptoms. If symptomatic, stay home and call the school nurse or COVID Coordinator.
  • Practice frequent hand washing.
  • Wear a face mask while in school, at school events or after-school activities, in public, or in close proximity to another individual.

If your student develops symptoms, takes a COVID test, or tests positive, please contact Michelle Przedwiecki, MPH, the COVID Coordinator at 753-4458 x2112 or mprzedwiecki@hoosicvalley.org.

Please note that privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot and will not identify anyone who has tested positive.

We cannot emphasize enough the importance of continuing to be conscientious and careful outside of the school to ensure your student’s health and safety.

We continue to work closely with the Rensselaer County Department of Health and follow their guidance. Thank you all for your cooperation during this uncertain time.
