COVID Testing

School COVID Testing
Posted on 01/08/2021
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the state has begun labeling areas of New York with high COVID-19 rates as yellow, orange or red zones. These zones are based on the COVID-19 rates in those areas.  The Governor's Cluster Action Initiative and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) requires schools providing in-person instruction to test specific percentages of in-person students, teachers, and staff for COVID-19 if the school is in a designated yellow, orange, or red zone, in order to hold in-person teaching.

Hoosic Valley Central School District is NOT currently in one of these zones, but we are developing our processes now, to be ready, when/if we are labeled to be in one of the zones.

Only students whose parents/guardians have provided this signed consent form to the school will be tested. The school nurses will collect a sample using a nasal swab and conduct the testing at school using a rapid COVID-19 Antigen test, if and when the school is determined to be in a yellow, orange or red zone.

Reminder: If you have not yet sent in your testing permission form please do so.
