Boil Water Alert

Boil Water Alert
Posted on 03/20/2021
Many of you may know that there was a fire in the Village of Schaghticoke early Saturday morning. In fighting the fire the outstanding firemen of the village and town had to drain the water tank that supplies the village with water.

When this happens, the New York State Department of Health has to test the water before use.

Mayor Scott Rice has announced a Boil Water Alert for the village.

The school will be affected but we have made arrangements to have school open on Monday with little or any interruptions in our school day.

The kitchen staff will be using hot water in their cooking and cleaning procedures.

Bathrooms will be open as usual.

Drinking fountains will be shutdown. We have made arrangements with Hannaford in the Shopping Plaza to obtain 1000 bottles of water for drinking purposes (Hannaford has generously donated the water). Our custodial staff will be pick up the bottled water Monday morning at 5AM and distribute them throughout the buildings.

Hats off to Hannaford, our firefighters and the Mayor for the collaborative effort to keep our schools open.
