Full-time, 10-month probationary position. School Calendar. Summer work as needed. Responsible for the leadership and management of the Food Service programing in a public school district with approximately 1,000 students, grades Pre-K-12. Duties include:

  • Daily preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch in two school buildings
  • Food purchasing and storage
  • Implementation of state and federal regulations
  • Complete paperwork related to the Child Nutrition Program
  • Utilize computer programs including Microsoft Office; specifically Excel
  • Provide training and supervision to the Food Service staff
  • Supervise and participate in cleaning kitchen, serving, and storage areas and care of equipment.
  • Report the daily meals, money, and invoicing
    Menu Planning
  • Employee time records and work schedules
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent educational experience; with academic major or concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field –

OR

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent educational experience, with any academic major or area of concentration, and either a State- recognized certificate for school nutrition directors or at least 1 year of relevant school nutrition program experience;

OR

Associate’s degree, or equivalent educational experience, with academic major or concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field; and at least 1 year of relevant school nutrition programs experience;

OR

High school diploma (or GED) and 3 years of relevant experience in school nutrition programs.


At least 8 hours of food safety training is required either not more than 5 years prior to their starting date or completed within 30 calendar days of employee’s starting date.


Demonstrated supervisory, recordkeeping, planning and problem-solving skills and training and customer service skills
