Tribute to Coach Jones

A message from Hoosic Valley School Superintendent, G. Michael Apostol:

The Section 2 football community has lost one of its pillars. Coach Ron Jones, Varsity Football Coach at Hoosick Falls High School, passed away on Monday, April 27th. Coach Jones was not only an outstanding coach but was an outstanding teacher. I had the privilege of working with Coach Jones at Hoosick Falls. I saw firsthand the diligence, compassion and professionalism that he exhibited. In addition, Coach Jones gave back to the community. Coach Jones was a native of Hoosick Falls, went away to college and returned home to be an integral part of his hometown. Not only was Coach Jones a tireless worker for the Hoosick Falls School community but gave so much of his expertise and time to the Village and Town of Hoosick Falls.

We have lost an icon of the education community. On Friday night we will be honoring Coach Jones by putting lights on our football field. If you go by on Friday, May 1st from 7-9 honk you horn in honor of his memory. Over the years the Hoosic Valley and Hoosick Falls communities have built a strong relationship of togetherness and respect. On behalf of the Hoosic Valley Community, I want to send out heartfelt sympathy to the Hoosick Falls Community.

Rest In Peace Coach Jones!
