The Guidance Office is aware that this is a very difficult time for members of our Senior Class and their parents. We are here to help. We have already had communication from several colleges that they are extending their Fall 2020 acceptance deposit/commitment deadline for freshmen and transfers to June 1, 2020. If you have not received an email directly from the colleges you have applied to check their website - specifically their admissions office page.
Seniors - If you haven’t applied to a college or trade school and think that may be the path for you now is the time to get that taken care of. We are happy to walk you through the process via a phone conference.
Everyone should be utilizing this time to complete scholarship applications. The Naviance Platform has a list of those available here at Hoosic Valley. Many have due dates in the months of April and May. As an example the Mary E. Pariseau Memorial Scholarship applications are due April 1st and are mailed directly to the family.
At this time we have no indication that there are any changes to the application process or availability of these scholarships due to the current public health crisis. We will forward any information as it becomes available to us.

Other avenues to check for Scholarship opportunities are the college you have applied to - search “scholarships” on their website, parent’s work - union affiliation, credit union and/or bank or religious affiliation.
