Dear Hoosic Valley Parents and Students,
We are excited to welcome to the District a School Resource Officer (SRO) from the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Eric Manny will begin as the SRO on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Deputy Manny will spend time in both the Jr. Sr. High School and the Elementary School. Deputy Manny’s main focus is to provide security and ensure the safety of our students. Deputy Manny will be in the hallways talking to students and building up relationships so that students will feel comfortable approaching him with any questions or problems that may have. He will also be attending school functions in support of our students. In conjunction with our faculty and staff, he will develop curriculum in regards to students’ safety, opioid drug use, and other areas that will educate our students in making good choices. Deputy Manny has familiarity in these areas and will be an outstanding resource. Deputy Manny has experience working with students and will be a great addition to our staff. Please welcome Deputy Manny to the Hoosic Valley Community.
