Anticipated Vacancy - Director of Instructional Technology

The Hoosic Valley Central School District is seeking a dynamic instructional leader to fill the position of Director of Instructional Technology. The successful candidate must have a strong knowledge of current research based instructional technology strategies. Experience with staff development and leadership is expected. The candidate should have skills in using and interpreting data and data based decision-making. A commitment to integrating 21st century skills into the curriculum is essential. Minimum Qualifications: NYS Certification – SDL or SDA.

Preferred Requirements: Evidence of successful administrative experience.

Job Description
· Supports and promotes high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance
· Provides Professional Development for staff in the areas of curriculum and technology
· Works with the building administrators in developing and fostering the integration of technology into the curriculum
· Develop Technology based projects throughout the district
· Maintenance and updating the District Technology Plan
· Develop and maintain instructional technology budget for the district
· Management of the District Data Dashboard
· Works with the Superintendent, the Building Principals, and the Director of Special Education Teachers to analyze and use student data to assist in driving instruction
· Develops professional learning communities throughout the district
· Works with Teachers to implement best instructional practices that are researched based
· Attends Administrative, Faculty, and Department meetings
· Works with District Data Coordinator in implementation of State Assessments
· Assists with the development, revision, and evaluation of the curriculum, including but not limited to serving on curriculum committees
· Observes and evaluates teachers in conjunction with the building Principals and the Director of Special Education
· Oversees with the development and implementation of 21st Century classrooms and/or other educational technology initiatives
· Supervises personnel in the Technology Department
· Research new programs, software, instructional strategies
· Chairs the district technology committee
· Assists the Building Principals in the recruitment and hiring of new staff
· Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field

A 12-month probationary position will be offered with an excellent benefits package.

Jr. Sr. High School Principal

The Hoosic Valley Central School District is seeking an educational leader for its 7-12 Jr. Sr. High School commencing on or about July 1, 2019.  NYS Certification as School Administrator/Supervisor or School Building Leader is required. A minimum of five years NYS teaching experience as well as administrative experience preferred.  Must possess knowledge of best instructional practices, the NYS Learning Standards, and APPR.

FOOD SERVICE HELPER


The Board of Education of the Hoosic Valley Central School District is seeking a qualified individual to fill one part-time (approximately 3 hours/day), 10-month position of Food Service Helper, beginning immediately.

Duties may include:

·         Sets tables and clears them after meals;

·         Fills sugar bowls and salt and pepper shakers;

·         Cleans dining rooms and dish and linen closets;

·         Cleans, washes and otherwise prepares vegetables and fruit for cooking;

·         Assists in the preparation of salads and desserts;

·         Helps Cooks in any phase of their duties;

·         Washes dishes, pots and pans by hand or machine;

·         Sweeps, mops and cleans kitchen;

·         May act as Monitor

·         May act as Cashier.

Qualifications:

·         Working knowledge of proper methods of serving food and of the care of tableware, glassware, silver, and kitchen appliances;

·         Ability to follow oral and written directions;

·         Good physical condition;

·         Experience in a restaurant or hotel dining room is desirable.

SCHOOL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR

The Hoosic Valley Central School District is seeking a School Business Administrator who will be responsible for the financial operations of the school district as well as manage the following areas of the business office:  Payroll, Human Resources, Accounts Payable, General Ledger & Account Oversight, Budget Monitoring & Preparation, Federal & State Grant Reporting, Purchasing, Asset Management, Benefits Administration and Cash Management.  The School Business Administrator will provide financial analysis and guidance relative to Labor Relations, Financial Planning and Capital Improvements as well as oversee the operations of Transportation, Operations & Maintenance, Custodial, Technology and Food Service Departments.

Requirements:   Interested candidates must be New York State certified School Business Administrator, School District Administrator or School District Business Leader.  Candidates must possess excellent communication and human relations skills.  Experience in a school district business environment and with education fund accounting is preferred. Prior experience as a District Treasurer to be considered.  An understanding of NY Education Law and Civil Service requirements is required. 

Salary Range:    Commensurate according to experience
