At the June 15th Board of Education meeting, the results of a community survey and a final student survey were announced. With over 700 votes the community vote narrowly supported the Hawks. The student vote showed overwhelming support for our new mascot and nickname, the Hoosic Valley Hawks. A strong case was made by students for all four choices but the clear winner was the Hawks.
A plan for the next steps will be announced in July and will involve a committee with community members and students to help with the mascot design and branding. It is tough to say goodbye to the Hoosic Valley Indian but we will respect that history and build new memories as the Hoosic Valley Hawks
