Dear Hoosic Valley School Community,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome our students and staff back to campus in the next few weeks, to mark the beginning of the 2022-23 school year. It is also a great pleasure to introduce myself to the Hoosic Valley community.
The Hoosic Valley Central School District and the greater community has a great reputation for academic success, athletic success, strong support for the arts and boundless opportunities for our students. The dedication and skill exhibited by our staff paired with the support of the community has prepared generations of students for the great future that awaits them. We have so much to build upon.
I have been an educator for 17 years and before that served various roles in my family's century old community business. I became a teacher and principal to give back to a public school system that helped me so much, then reached a point where I sought a position where I could help increase opportunities for a larger group of students. I was looking for a community that knew the value of good education with strong community pride and support, and I found that here at Hoosic Valley. In my first two months on the job, I have learned that Hoosic Valley is everything I thought it would be. We have a fantastic staff that cares for our students and always puts their well-being first. The community is supportive and optimistic and is represented by a passionate and knowledgeable Board of Education. Those ingredients make my role easier as I continue to bring us all together to provide the best possible experience for our entire school community.
You will be getting many notes from my office, our administrators and other faculty and staff members over the next few weeks, to prepare you for the start of school. We have recently started using a new communication platform named ParentSquare. This will be a great source of information from your school and teachers and will be used along with our evolving website. Please pay particular attention to some of the helpful emails that you receive and reach out to your child’s, teachers, counselors, and principals if you have any concerns or questions.
It is an exciting time for all of us as we await the first day of school on Wednesday September 7th. We look forward to a great year and hope to work with each of you to make our students experience happy, healthy, and productive!
