School Re-Opening Survey

School Re-Opening Survey
Posted on 07/06/2020

Dear Parent/Guardian,

At Hoosic Valley, we are actively planning for our September opening of school. As we await guidance from New York State on whether or not we can return to in-person instruction fully or partially, we have established two committees to oversee the development of procedures and practices that will comply with State directives regarding safe opening of schools in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic.

We are planning for issues related to academics and facilities simultaneously. Our Facilities Re-Entry Committee is planning for three possible scenarios for a September start to school:

  1. Being fully in school with all students at once.
  2. Blending some level of remote instruction with some students on campus.
  3. Implementing fully remote instruction.

Planning for these three scenarios will enable us to be prepared for directives and to adapt to requirements that may be fluid, or change during the course of the year.

The committee has developed a brief survey for parents that we hope you will be willing to complete,

The survey will be open until July 13th. Your feedback on the survey will help us to plan for transportation, and procedures related to the movement of students while on campus. We will continue throughout the summer to keep the public informed about plans as they are able to be made.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this survey.
