We are happy to partner with the Rensselaer County Department of Mental Health and provide our students with additional mental health support. Heather Chase, a Mental Health Therapist from Unified Services will be working with our school social worker, Janet Folkman, to support our kids in need.

An introduction from Heather.......
Hello, My name is Heather Chase. I grew up in Southern Vermont and moved to New York 7 years ago. I have worked for Unified Services since the fall of 2019. I graduated from Sage Graduate School in 2017 with my masters in Counseling and Community Psychology with my internship being through Rensselaer County Mental Health at their satellite office in Hoosick Falls, NY. I worked for the Vermont School for Girls as a Family Therapist with 12-21 year old girls who were in their trauma focused residential program. Following that I worked for Whitney Young as an addiction behavioral health counselor for two years. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families to identify strategies to help them cope and work through emotional, mental and physical problems by being able to express their feelings through play and talk therapy while identifying coping skills that they can utilize throughout their day at home, school and within the community.
